Almost everyone today is trying to lose weight, and one way to do this is by increasing your metabolism. There is no magic to this concept. Using these steps consistently will help you increase your metabolism and help you lose weight.
Step 1
Eat breakfast. It can be any type of food, but try to keep it healthy with a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat.
Step2
Consume enough food for your body size. Not eating enough food to sustain your body in your daily activities causes your metabolism to slow.
Step3
Break meals into 4 to 6 small, healthy portions with 2 to 3 snacks a day. Eating consistently every couple hours throughout the day helps increase metabolism.
Step4
Balance your meals with a healthy choice of fruits and vegetables, grains, dairy and protein.
